Viagem ao Princípio: Ida e Volta. 30 anos da Coleção de Serralves

"Viagem ao Princípio: Ida e Volta. 30 anos da Coleção de Serralves" is the name of the exhibition that marks the three decades of existence of the Serralves Foundation.
It was 1989 when the Foundation was created and since then artists like Mathieu Abonnenc, André Cepeda, Hamish Fulton, Runa Islam, Albuquerque Mendes, Charlotte Moth, Maria Nordman, Lygia Pape, Augusto Alves da Silva, Mariana Silva and Simon Starling, recorded their names in the history of Serralves with works specifically commissioned by the institution. Or even artists who "had important exhibitions there", such as Pedro Cabrita Reis, Luc Tuymans or Lothar Baumgarten.
Álvaro Lapa, António Dacosta, Ângelo de Sousa and Joaquim Rodrigo are other creators present at the show and which have been linked to Serralves since the beginning, with works that "integrate the hub created by the then Secretary of State for Culture" and which are part of the so called "coleção SEC".
