Women's Race

There are more than 20 thousand entries in the 14th edition of EDP Corrida da Mulher scheduled for May 19th in the city of Porto. The organization hopes to surpass the milestone of 22 thousand entries that was reached last year, in what is the largest women's run in the country.

One of the new features this year is the inclusion of the movement "Egoísmo Positivo", which opens the possibility for people who move in wheelchairs to participate in the event accompanied by athletes of this movement.

The event, organized by Runporto with municipal support via PortoLazer, continues to have a charity component: one euro from each entry goes to IPO-Porto and the fight against breast cancer. Throughout its 13 editions, the event has already raised more than 240 thousand euros for this cause.

The start line will be in Alameda das Antas, at 10 am, and the finish line will be in Avenida dos Aliados, totalling a five-kilometre course to be followed by running or walking. For security reasons, there will be some traffic restrictions.

There’s the usual entertainment along the route, and joining this event is Mikael Carreira in solidarity with a concert that will take place in Avenida dos Aliados, soon after the athletes arrive.
